What is a blog?

I've started a blog. I don't even know what a blog is. I believe it's like twitter but longer (I'm not really sure what twitter is. I just know that I can be kept up to date with what an ice cream man from bacup is up to. Hi Salvatore!). I believe a blog is a place for my musings on life, love and this particular blog, baby led weaning of my wonderful little constant companion, Eleanor. If you're reading this you're either friend, family or just got downright lucky with your googling, whoever you are, pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
